I've done the Castle Rock trail and the Canyon Rim trails. Don't know why, but that would be a great trail/walk/overlook to go to if open. Someone else posted that the Turkey Spur Overlook road was closed recently. At Grandview there is the Main Overlook, you can look at the Ampitheatre which is sadly closed this summer but you can still walk around and see where the shows are held, there are numerous trails. ![]() 20 off of I-64 thru downtown Hinton, cross bridge, hang a ntinue on to Sandstone Falls Park. Is it worthy of more time than that? #2 I don't want to just "stop at Grandview" on Monday after traveling from Lynchburg and spending time at Sandstone Falls. #1 Is there by any chance a gps friendly ADDRESS for the Sandstone Falls? A place with a parking lot that was established to provide people such as myself to park and then explore the falls and the surrounding area? Thank you for that feedback beachlad圓 !!!:) Gift shop, ice cream, coffee shop, climbing wall, golf course.all in one. Golf.just down the road from the hotels at Exit 44. ![]() There is a very cool and unique mini golf course.Mt. There are lots of hotels and restaurants at Exit 44 (Harper Rd) in Beckley. Walk around the Lake (a very pretty one mile flat trail), and there are other trails if you want to explore there too.īeaver is just outside of Beckley, so stay wherever you can get a good hotel. (these parks are not far from each other at all.one on either side of the Interstate). After Grandview, pass over the Interstate to Little Beaver St. There are also some nice trails at that park. Great photo ops there too.Īfter Sandstone, the Dam and Hinton, head back on Rt. This is right beside the Dam and you can get pretty close to it. 3) (stop at Kirk's for lunch!) You will then cross another bridge, turn right on 3, and another right into a residential area and head to Bellepoint Park. Stay on that road (20, which hooks up with Rt. (some people say it takes longer to get there than to stay there)But it is very pretty and picturesque, especially after a big rain.Īfter the Falls head back toward town, BUT.don't cross the bridge. Depends on you as to how long you want to stay there. ![]() There is a Boardwalk there, plus one or two short trails. Go on thru Hinton, cross the bridge, hang a quick right. The Falls Boardwalk/Park is on the other side of the river. Continue on into Hinton and to the Falls.
